How to create a DLMM or DAMM v2 pool on Meteora
Anyone can create a pool on Meteora. This walks through the four create forms, what each setting means, what it costs, and which settings you can never change afterwards.
- Best for
- Token teams, communities and LPs who need a market that doesn't exist yet.
- You'll need
- A Solana wallet with SOL
- The token being priced (the base token) and a quote token such as SOL or USDC
- The token's contract address
- Cost
- Shown on the review screen before you confirm. As a guide, Meteora puts a DAMM v2 pool with a position at about 0.022 SOL and a DLMM launch pool at about 0.25 SOL.
Worked example
The four create forms
- DLMM · Standardmeteora.ag/create/dlmm/standardAny pair. Pick a base fee and a bin step: both are fixed forever.
- DLMM · Launchmeteora.ag/create/dlmm/launchA new token, seeded from a starting price, with a lock and a start time. About 0.25 SOL.
- DAMM v2 · Standardmeteora.ag/create/dammv2/standardAny pair. Fee tier, fee collection mode, optional permanent lock. About 0.022 SOL with a position.
- DAMM v2 · Launchmeteora.ag/create/dammv2/launchA new token, one- or two-sided, with fees that can start high and fall.
Every form ends on “Review & Create”, which shows the pool creation cost before you sign. Costs from Meteora's guides.
Step by step
Pick the form
Choose DLMM or DAMM v2, then Standard (a normal pool) or Launch (for a new token). The four forms are at meteora.ag/create/dlmm/standard, /dlmm/launch, /dammv2/standard and /dammv2/launch.[1]
Select your tokens
Under “Select your tokens”, pick the base token and the quote token by ticker or by pasting the contract address.[1]
Set the starting price
Under “Configure Pool”, enter the initial price in quote tokens per base token. A market price may be offered as a reference; check it yourself.[1]
Set the fees
On DLMM, choose a base fee and a bin step; neither can be changed later. On DAMM v2, choose a Base Fee Mode (“Fixed”, “Time Scheduler” or “Market Cap Scheduler”), a fee tier, the dynamic fee and the Fee Collection Mode.[1]
Add liquidity, or seed the launch
Standard pools can start with liquidity: a strategy and range on DLMM, token amounts on DAMM v2. Launch pools take a seed amount, a lock period and a trading start time.[1]
Decide on locking
On DAMM v2 you can tick “Permanently lock my liquidity”. If you do, you can never withdraw those tokens.[1]
Review and create
On “Review & Create”, check the pair, fee, price, amounts and the pool creation cost (rent and transaction fees), then confirm in your wallet.[1]
Good to know
- Only one DLMM pool can exist for a token pair with the same bin step and base fee.[1]
- A DLMM pool's base fee and bin step can't be changed after it's created.[1]
- Planning an airdrop? Send tokens only after the trading start time, or others can open their own markets first.[1]
- Developers can do the same from a config file with Meteora Invent's command-line tools.[3]
Standard or Launch?
A Standard pool is an ordinary market for tokens that already trade. A Launch pool is for a new token: it can start trading at a set time, lock the team's liquidity, and on DAMM v2 use fees that start high to slow down bots.[1] How token launches work explains the launch tools.
What it costs
| What | About |
|---|---|
| A DAMM v2 pool with one liquidity position | 0.022 SOL[4] |
| A DLMM launch pool | 0.25 SOL[4] |
| Token-account rent when creating a DAMM pool | 0.02–0.03 SOL[2] |
The review step always shows the exact cost for your settings before you sign.[1]
