PreStocks guide tutorial
How to sell PreStocks and cash out to USDC
Most PreStocks exits are simple swaps. What matters is size against liquidity, the transfer fee on the way out, and any corporate-action deadline on the token.
- Best for
- Holders taking profits, cutting a position or exiting before a deadline
- You'll need
- The wallet that holds your PreStocks
- A little SOL for the network fee
- Cost
- The transfer fee on the tokens you send, the pool fee and price impact
Worked example
Selling 1 token of a 3% PreStocks token
- You sell
- 1.00000 ANTHROPIC
- Transfer fee withheld (3%)
- − 0.03000
- Pool receives
- 0.97000 ANTHROPIC
- Token price (illustrative)
- $1,061.00
- You receive, before pool fee and impact
- ≈ 1,029.17 USDC
Illustrative. Large sales move the price: quote the full size and split it if the impact is high.
Step by step
Check for a corporate action
Open the company page on prestocks.com. If there's an IPO or merger notice, read it first: your exit may be a conversion with a deadline, not a plain sale.[1]
Check the liquidity
On the token's Jupiter page, look at its liquidity. A sale that's large next to the pool moves the price against you.[2]
Quote the whole sale
On jup.ag, sell the token for USDC and read the price impact and the minimum you'll receive.
Split a large sale
If the impact is high, sell in smaller parts over time instead of all at once.
Allow for the fee
The transfer fee applies to the tokens you send, so the pool receives less than you sell: 3% less on most tokens on 28 Sep 2026.[3]
Sign and record
Confirm the swap, then save the signature and the proceeds for your records.
Good to know
- PreStocks' FAQ says you can exit through on-chain liquidity even if the company never lists; the price and speed depend on liquidity.[1]
- Redemption for USDC exists in the terms, but it's discretionary, needs KYC and has minimums and fees.[3]
- After a deadline there may be no market left: XAI's pool held under $200 on 28 Sep 2026.[4]
When selling isn't the exit
Once a company has listed or been acquired, the exit becomes a conversion: into a tokenized public stock after an IPO, or into USDC or a tokenized version of the new company after a merger, each with a deadline.[1] XAI holders who missed 12 September 2026 were left with an expired token.[5]
Redemption is not a sell button
The terms let a holder request redemption for USDC, but PreStocks decides whether to accept it, and eligibility checks, KYC, minimum sizes and fees apply.[3] For most holders on-chain liquidity is the practical exit, and its depth sets the price you get.[1]
