How to buy PreStocks on Solana, step by step

If you're eligible, buying a PreStocks token is an ordinary Solana swap. The care is in the details: the right mint, the transfer fee and the price impact.

Step by step

  1. Confirm you're eligible

    PreStocks isn't available in the U.S., to U.S. persons or in 36 named jurisdictions, and you must be 18 or older.[1] If you're restricted, stop here; the full list is in who can buy PreStocks.

  2. Set up and fund a wallet

    Install a Solana wallet from its official site, write the recovery phrase on paper, and add SOL and USDC. Keep some SOL back: holding a new token opens a token account, which takes a small refundable deposit.

  3. Open the company page on prestocks.com

    Go to prestocks.com, open Products and pick the company. The page shows the token price, premium and holders, links the official mint, and its Get button lists where to trade.[2]

  4. Copy the official mint

    Copy the mint from the company page or from our token list and compare every character. Every official mint starts with “Pre”.[2]

  5. Set up the swap on Jupiter

    PreStocks trade on Jupiter and the apps that integrate it.[3] On jup.ag, sell USDC or SOL and paste the mint as the token to buy. Check that it shows as verified and is named “<Company> PreStocks”.[4]

  6. Read the quote

    Look at the price impact, the route and the minimum you'll receive. The transfer fee is taken from the tokens that arrive, so expect about 3% fewer on most tokens.[1]

  7. Start small and check what arrived

    Make a small first swap, then compare the tokens in your wallet with the quote. The gap is the transfer fee plus any slippage.

  8. Keep a record

    Save the transaction signature and your cost, and note any deadline for the company you bought; SpaceX PreStocks, for one, must be converted by 12 March 2027.[5]

  • Trading on-chain in DeFi needs no KYC; minting and redemption with the issuer do.[3]
  • Moving the tokens to another wallet you own pays the transfer fee again.[1]
  • Wallets without scaled-UI support can show SpaceX and OpenAI balances unscaled.[6]

What the fee does to a first buy

The transfer fee is withheld from the tokens that reach you, so a $200 buy of a 3% token lands about $194 of tokens at an unchanged price, before pool fees and price impact. Mistakes to avoid

  • Buying the ticker, not the mint. Other tokens use names like OPENAI; always paste the mint.[2]
  • Ignoring price impact. Thin pools move quickly, so quote the full size before you sign.
  • Forgetting the deadline. A listing or merger starts a conversion clock, and tokens that miss it expire worthless.[3]
  • Using a VPN to get around the geo-check. The terms treat that as unauthorized access.[1]
