Glossary

xStock: A token that tracks one stock or ETF one to one, issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited. Tickers end in a lower-case x, as in TSLAx.
Tracker certificate: The legal form of an xStock: a bearer debt instrument that pays out the value of an underlying asset. It is not a share.
Issuer: Backed Assets (JE) Limited, a Jersey special-purpose company registered with the Jersey Financial Services Commission, which issues and redeems xStocks.
Primary market: Where xStocks are created and redeemed directly with the issuer. Creating is for approved professional clients; any holder who passes KYC can redeem. Most U.S. xStocks run 24/5, other listings follow their home exchange, and the stablecoin flow starts at $5,000.
Secondary market: Where everyone else buys and sells xStocks: exchanges, wallets and DeFi apps, often 24/7.
Proof of reserves: The issuer's published count of shares held for each product, next to the tokens in circulation.
Multiplier: A number, starting at 1.0, that turns the tokens you hold into the shares' worth they represent. Dividends and splits raise it; reverse splits lower it.
Raw and scaled amount: On Solana and TON, dividends and splits never change the raw amount on-chain; wallets that support it show the scaled amount, raw times the multiplier.
Scaled UI Amount: The Solana Token-2022 extension that stores the multiplier with the token.
Ex-dividend date: The first day a stock trades without its next dividend. The docs schedule the multiplier change for 00:30 UTC the next day; each token's multiplier history shows when it actually happened.
Withholding tax: Tax taken from a dividend at source, before the issuer reinvests it.
xChange: The issuer's atomic quote engine: issuance or redemption against stablecoins, settled in one transaction.
xPort: In-kind conversion between shares at Alpaca and xStocks, with no cash in between.
xBridge: The official bridge for moving xStocks between chains, built on Chainlink CCIP.
Wrapped xStock: A non-rebasing ERC-4626 token, such as wSPYx, that DeFi apps on EVM chains can hold.
xPoints: xStocks' rewards program for holding, lending and providing liquidity.
xStocks Alliance: The exchanges, chains, DeFi apps and infrastructure providers that integrate xStocks.
Security agent: An independent firm, Security Agent Services AG, that can take over the collateral accounts if the issuer defaults.
Final Terms: The legal document for one product, read together with the base prospectus.
Permanent delegate: A Token-2022 setting that lets one key move or burn tokens from any account of that token.
